Begin a hands-on mechanical project with the ROKR Scout Beetle MI02, a 147-piece motorized DIY model inspired by futuristic reconnaissance technology. Its rounded insect body combines red armor, black structural parts, metallic accents and exposed mechanisms. The completed model sits on a circular powered base, transforming it from a traditional assembly puzzle into an interactive display piece.
Touch the button on the base to activate the performance. The metal-etched membranous wings beat up to 720 times per minute, while the miniature motor operates at up to 1,200 rpm. A green detection light illuminates above the body as several internal components move at different speeds. The ROKR Scout Beetle MI02 automatically stops after approximately three minutes of continuous operation.
A reactor-inspired mechanical core, pressure gauge, compass detail, colored tubing and decorative turbojet-style tail give the model its reconnaissance theme. Durable ABS forms the main structure, while softer PVC appendages help protect smaller parts. Metal components and etched wings create additional contrast across the red-and-black mechanical beetle model.
The completed ROKR Scout Beetle MI02 measures approximately 7.7 × 3.9 × 3.7 inches, or 19.5 × 10 × 9.5 centimetres. The manufacturer estimates approximately three hours of assembly and recommends the model for ages eight and over. It requires three AAA/LR03/AM4 1.5V batteries, which may be excluded because of international shipping restrictions.
